Bacchanale by Camille Saint-Saëns
Bacchanale by Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921) and arranged by Kneyon D. Wilson is an orchestral show piece, Bacchanale is performed in an andantino moderato tempo, which is a relaxed and moderate tempo. The composition is based on the opera Samson and Delilah, a biblical story where Delilah cuts Samson’s hair and he becomes weak. In the operative spectacle Bacchanale is a pagan orgy and Philistines including Delilah delight in the fall of Samson. Bacchanale has an inert melody in places intended for Dalila, and the melody is rising in other parts of the performance.
