Death brings a permanent stop to all biological functions that sustain living organisms. When a person dies, it is normal for loved ones to conduct funeral ceremonies in honor of the departed one. Traditionally, funerals were perceived as moments of grief and somber moods, hence there was not much activity in terms of business opportunities to provide high end funeral services. However, in our modern life, people have embraced modern forms of celebrating life and selling death in different forms. It is approximated that people spend over $ 2 billion in the yearly Halloween celebrations. The funeral industry has also evolved with most of the companies in the field providing different products such as ecofriendly burials, entertainment programs and digital platforms where memories of departed souls are saved.
Halloween is an annual holiday celebrated in honor of the dead. It is characterized by lighting of bonfires, dressing up in spooky attire and decorations for both humans and pets. People generally spend lots of money to purchase the items, which means that companies producing such décor make huge amounts of money during Halloween season. Although death is traditionally a topic that is seldom talked about, Halloween seasons are a clear indication that death, just like any other rite of passage, should be accepted and celebrated. Halloween provides an opportunity for companies to make money by selling costumes, decorations and venues for people to come together and commemorate departed souls.
Ecofriendly burials have become common today, as people are becoming more aware of the need to conserve the environment. Use of metal and concrete for burials is slowly becoming a thing of the past.
