Scenario : You work for a software company and your new product is full of bugs- programming errors that result in less than perfect performance. The company is asking you to write a press release that communicates a delay in the release of the software. You should include an explanation of the problem and an assurance that the contributing factors that gave rise to the situation are being corrected or were beyond the control of the company and its representatives.
Try to avoid the implication or indication of guilt or culpability.
To complicate matters, your company is publicly traded. The announcement of a defective software program can send the company's stock price plummeting. How you release this information will influence how it is received. So try to avoid negative words like 'bugs' and 'errors' etc. If your letter briefly states that the software program development process has been extended to incorporate additional improvements, the emphasis shifts from the negative to the positive. The bad news then becomes the delay of release instead of the problematic software. Feel free to add details to fill in the story but do not change the basic issue.

Cupertino, CA: Dell Technologies is planning to launch its new product in the coming days, making it public today. There have been prolonged delays, but they will also be addressed to inform their clients. The new product is an advancement of their existing system which was supposed to be launched last year. The system is embedded with an artificial intelligence system that will automatically execute commands. This new technology is likely to advance the operation speed, enhance efficiency and productivity, and even improve the security of existing technologies. The advantage of this technology is that it will improve their updating systems and even boost their profits because it is incorporated with a premium package.
“This technological era is accompanied with inconveniences of cyber security and many other internet-related crimes, and to some extent, we want to protect our clients from this threat,” said Simon Krypton, Dell Technologies CEO. Coming with a secure product embedded with artificial intelligence requires a lot of time. The CEO went further, stating that they were in no rush to launch the product despite the effectiveness and profits it would have brought the company. In the process, this elaborated the reason for the delays experienced.
