It is a fact that the world is increasingly changing. Nearly three decades ago, the information technology tools used today were a dream. People never imagined that they would communicate and share information globally via cellphones and computers in 2022. Nevertheless, engineers and scientists are redesigning future technologies, and the world around us is changing in incredible ways. The world of the future would be characterized by advancements in technology and communication approaches, as well as other inevitabilities that would shift our daily lives. Understanding the future world is necessary for preparing for the inevitable. In this essay, it is argued that the future world will be characterized by self-driving cars, artificial intelligence, and digital health tools.
Self-driving vehicles would characterize the roads in the future. Most road accidents are caused by human error, thus prompting the need for self-driving cars to solve the problem once and for good. In this context, human driving would be outlawed by 2050 to pave the way for safer driving. More importantly, autonomous automobiles would match or surpass human safety requirements in the future. Contrary to human drivers that get distracted, computers have a holistic view of the environment and the situation, communicate with other cars, and make decisions faster than humans, thus enhancing safety. Autonomous driving is increasingly becoming widespread on new car models with each passing year.
