The organizational culture of Nike supports its marketing strategy through the support of new product development. The culture ensures that Nike continues to have its competitive edge in the global sports shoes, equipment, and apparel market. Nike is known for its great quality athletic products and it is famous globally. Nike holds nearly half of the market share in the United States. The marketing strategy of Nike is mainly focused on the young generation since it is a brand that is mainly made for the youth and the logo and slogan reflect the same youthful energy, (De Mooij, M. and Hofstede, G., 2010). Nike makes trendy products that are designed to attract the young generation. Nike gives its marketing and advertising campaigns unique touches that are successful in engaging customers. Nike embraces new technologies and quickly adapt to the needs of the American people.
Internal Factors
Internal factors in an organization are very crucial since they have an impact on what people think, feel, and do in a work environment. The main component of internal factors is an organizational culture which is the set of key believes, values, and attitudes shared by the members of the organization. Internal factors incorporate all elements which are endogenous to the organization and are greatly influenced and controlled by it. Nike as an organization is good at the development of a strong organizational culture, (Claudiu, C. S et al. 2011). The organizational culture of Nike Inc supports business resilience and capability. Nike employees ae given a set of rules, instructions, and expectations on how to perform their duties in consideration of their relationship with the customers and other employees. This approach helps to ensure that the company maintains its corporate culture hence partly contributing to the success of the organization.
The organizational culture of Nike is centered on creativity and innovation in the provision of products that suit current customer preferences. The main characteristics of the organizational culture of Nike Inc include talented, diverse, and inclusive. Nike understands that innovation and talent work together therefore Nike emphasizes the need to provide human resource support for product development and internal services, (Steers, et al. 2013). Therefore, Nike uses training programs that ensure employee talent is maintained and also, mentoring and coaching programs. Diversity is continually developed in the organizational culture of Nike since Nike believe that it leads to a dynamic workforce. Nike maintains diversity through programs like the Speak Up! program which promote idea sharing among employees. Finally, Nike emphasizes inclusiveness which helps in minimizing barriers to employee performance. Nike supports inclusiveness through a team-based approach to management.
