The experiment conducted in study three (the effects of group and task experience) was the test of the effects which group experience had on group performance and expertise recognition. It looked at group performance of members of a group working on two tasks which were related and transfer of expertise would occur across the tasks. The focus was on how experience in a task was useful on relevant problems (Littlepage, Robison, Reddington, 1997, p.142). During the experiment, individuals who participated completed two quiz tasks, individually and then in groups.
The results of the experiment after the analysis were as follows: For instance, in group performance, experience led to higher performance level of the groups.
Secondly, in the test for the ability of members, member ability was not affected by experience. The measures which were used in this case were member potential and average ability of the member involved. It was found out that average ability of members was not differing across experience levels (Littlepage, Robison, Reddington, 1997, p...
