Experience Having Children
People have different preferences when it comes to having children. Some people wish to have them while others prefer not to have kids. I am one of those people who have always wished to have kids. When I was growing up, I could listen to people give stories about the challenges of raising children and the joy of having them in the house. Such stories made me yearn to have children.
I have two children, a boy, and a girl. The boy is 5 years old while the girl is 3 years old. The experience I have had raising these children has made me understand d the stories I used to hear about raising kids while I was young. my mother could occasionally talk of the sleepless nights he spent looking after me and my siblings. A friend of hers would tell her that she has never spent sleepless nights because her children sleep throughout the night. When I got pregnant with my first child, I was not sure of what to expect because my elder friends kept telling me that every child is born with unique needs. “Some children are born calms while others tend to be fussy”, said my best friend. All this while, i8 was hoping that my child would be calm and would sleep throughout the night. Little did I know that I was to experience the opposite of that.
When my first child was born, I spent most of my nights comforting him because he could cry for many hours. Such went on for 3 months and all I could say to myself is that I would not have another kid. This is the stage in my life where I became most productive. I had a nanny who would come help me with the baby during the day. However, this did not help much because I am the kind of person who finds it hard to sleep during the day. I have always been grateful for my son because, after those three months, I have not had any challenges reading him. He h...
