My chosen advertisement to reverse engineer is Carlton Dry. Carlton Dry is a tasty dry beer without any of the bitterness of conventional beers. According to its advertisement campaigns, Carlton dry is considered a fantastic companion to every good time coupled with the lengthy brewing process that eliminates sugars (and renders less carb). Carlton Dry is a packed, super-refreshing cider brewed to be consistent and effortless; a crisp, cool, dry lager with a low bitterness level that delivers excellent drinkability. With a white foam head and a zesty scent, this beer is soft golden, making these qualities favorable to the market; the advertisement "Carlton Dry: The Temple of Dry" advocates that people (Australians) be more like the beer, therefore, matching its uncomplicated attributes. Under the close watch of Master Dry, learners dedicate themselves to a value structure focused on Carlton Dry's relatively simple, easy-drinking model in the hero 60-second TVC. All through the television commercial, Master Dry is seen teaching his learners about Carlton Dry's concept as they undergo intensive preparation to become more like the drink, including jumping on water, standing on top of stacked cans of beers, and taking bottles out of ice troughs.
The commercial seems to be using different aspects of the Chinese culture to convey its message to the viewers. It illustrates an image that the beer represents these emotions and that the viewers/consumers should take this lesson at heart. Moreover, the commercial takes place in what appears to be the mountains next to a nearby temple; the actors in the commercials are wearing robes to depict uncomplicatedness and a detachment to worldly possessions. The robes being worn are blue, signifying authority, organization, interaction, reliability, confidence, and integrity. They have used the perfect shade of blue as too much of it will give off an unsettling vibe. The shade of blue being used in the commercial exudes strength, mental discipline, conservatism, respect and is the perfect color for sending a message. In other cultures, such as the Eastern cultures, blue is used to denote healing and relaxation. This means there are appreciations of a different culture by the different community and this makes culture diverse. The color yellow is paired meticulously with the blue to give out a feeling of cheerfulness and brightness.
Furthermore, the whole commercial has soothing music in the background that is derived from Chinese culture. It is a traditional Chinese song with a smooth bamboo flute touch to it; in Chinese cultures, it is used to convey a calming and meditative touch. Additionally, in other cultures, it is said to deliver harmony and balance in one's life. A final observation would be how they used the beer keg to make a Gong; a gong in Eastern and Southeast Asian cultures is seen as a symbol of wealth and status; simply placing your hands over one is said to bring fortune strength to the person. I believe the commercial use these aspects to portray a sense of sophisticatio...
