Political decisions concerning the economic modes and specific decisions related to the exploitation of energy sources directly shape humanity’s future context, quite literally reinventing substantial “geo” locations. Decisions concerning whether to augment fossil fuel extraction capabilities or generate more solar panels, including the utilization of regenerative forestry cultures rather than clear-cutting, are now having significant implications on the Earth System’s functionality. This is shaping geopolitics because serious policy decisions concerning the shift from fossil fuel to ecological, economic strategies, and renewable energy are being executed and enforced. Energy systems, as well as the employment of firepower, is not simply a matter of relative hegemony within the global system, the conventional geopolitics theme, but currently constitutes a matter of impact on the Earth System configuration in the future.
