This class has been one of the most enjoyable classes since it has offered me a learning experience transforming my life. Even though I have learned many things within these course modules, one of the most outstanding things I have learned is that since war usually leads to loss in the country because most citizens are affected, the government should always employ measures to protect the country from war. Within these modules are different instances of war, the country's losses, and the government's measures to protect the country from war.
The Cold War harmed America in different ways. For instance, the United States suffered from high inflation rates, where the country started experiencing a persistent increase in the price of most products. One of the reasons that caused inflation was that most sectors were not as productive as expected due to the tensions that existed due to fear and tensions, and suspicion between the United States and the Soviet Union. Moreover, the U.S. economy was negative since the government diverged the money it could have used to develop an economy in the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction in preparation for an actual war. Besides, since there was increased enmity between the USA and Russia, trade between these two countries was negatively affected during this period. Furthermore, since most people could not sustain their well-being, there was an increase in divorce cases. Most children were left to suffer when raised by single parents, a trend that negatively affected them psychologically.
Moreover, the September 11, 2001 attacks harmed the United States. For example, the attack of the North and the South Tower caused the loss of lives of a huge group of people. Moreover, this attack negatively affected the businesses of most people. For example, businesses within this area were forced to close for some time, making them suffer a huge loss. Furthermore, this attack caused George W. Bush to change his original plan when he was elected. For example, after the investigations showed that the attack was from al-Qaeda, he established a plan to attack Iraq in the process of disarming them.
