Commonality Between Nostra Aetate Vs Rabbi Sacks
The Nostra Aetate and Rabbi Sacks texts have a great commonality. Both texts have the main theme of how to achieve peaceful coexistence between members of different religious backgrounds. The Nostra Aetate argues that it is important to always appreciate that all human beings stem from one stock and that they have a common destiny. Further, the text also notes humans belong to one family “… because all share a common destiny, namely God” (Aetate, 1). Based on these observations, the conclusion is made that we must treat each other with respect despite different religious backgrounds. With a similar theme, the Rabbi Stacks text notes with great emphasis the great suffering that humanity has experienced due to religious intolerance.
