Essay Instructions:

For this assignment, you will be creating a digital technology log and reflection analyzing your use of technology. Over a 48-hour period, log how much time you spend on each type of digital technology that you use (computer, phone, tablet, etc). Please also keep track of the applications that you are using (e.g., social media, fitness tracking, e-mail).
Submit your log along with a 300- to 400-word reflection on your assumptions about your use of technology prior to tracking your time and what you learned from the exercise. Did anything surprise you? Consider how your use of technology affects your life—your relationships, work, leisure time, and so forth. Is there anything you would like to change about your use of technology?

Day 1
0500hrs: While still in bed, I clicked on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram applications on my phone. I commented on few stories and pictures on Twitter and Instagram before logging out. However, I used Facebook until 0600hrs to chat with my friends.
0800hrs: used the computer to check updates sent to my email regarding some work. Sent an email to John
1100hrs to 1400hrs: was engaged in various home activities my Whatsapp application was opened because I was in a group chat with my friends.
1700hrs to 1900hrs: Went out with a few friends and our phones were put to maximum use. Took several pictures and posted them on Facebook and Intagram.
2200hrs: Updated my Whatsapp profile picture and simultaneously used Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp before falling asleep.
Day 2
0500hrs: The phone was off so I switched to the tabled and as usual I opened Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for new stories. Commented and liked majority of the posts before getting out of the bed.
0900hrs: checked email for new updates regarding work and proceeded to send a few emails to my work colleagues.
1700hrs: I spend the whole day with my grandparents who dislike the use of phones or computers. However, from 1700hrs, I was able to visit Facebook and Twitter and even posted how strict my grandparents are.
2200hrs: Was all over Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in a bid to make up for the time lost. I slept at 0200hrs after both my phone and tablet went off.
