A computer is a device that is capable of storing, retrieving and processing data. It also manipulates the data or information. Its components are divided into four categories as below.
* PC Basic parts
Basically, it has two main parts; the hardware – tangible parts such as the keyboard and monitor; the software – the instructions that command the hardware how to carry out tasks. The core software is called the operating system while others are called application programs. Examples of operating systems include Windows, Linux etc. while application programs include word processors, media players etc.
