The labor force participation rate is measured using different techniques and methods, and it helps determine how many individuals are currently employed and how many are in search of suitable jobs. Sometimes, students and housewives look for part-time employment to meet their expenses in a better way. The aim is to help such people find suitable part-time jobs, depending on their skills and qualifications. However, students and housewives who do not want to do jobs anytime in the future, even when their age is from 16 to 64, are not included in this data set (Winkler, 2016).
Effects of Gender and Race on Labor Force Participation
It’s safe to say that gender and race impact the labor force participation to an extent. Most often, multinational brands and companies prefer men over women, as well as hire individuals based on their race, class, religion, and culture. As a result, males have started dominating females in different walks of life, and this trend must be changed as soon as possible. It is often observed that every 2 out of 100 employees are females, and they are often offered low salary packages, as well as prevented from supervising male workers.
