Describe the elements of charismatic leadership?
Charismatic leadership focuses on the leaders' characteristics other than the process of leadership because the leader aims at transforming the lives of people while most leadership styles aim at changing others according to the leader's visions. Thus this leadership style is innovative, creative and involves very many ideas because the leader is using his attributes to change others (Sohmen, 2015). Similar to other styles of leadership example; transformational and democracy, charismatic leadership has elements or rather characteristics of its own.
These elements are required from both the leader and his followers so that they can be effective and have productive output. The leader must be confident and able to express his thoughts or opinions. This means that he or she should be proud of himself or herself thus not try to imitate others. Or matters of expressing one, the leader must be good at communicating to others with no problems after all communication is a vital element in the society. One should be good role models such that the followers don't have to feel ashamed of following. Having self-respect contributes to the leaders' image, therefore, he or she must have a well-built image in the public eye.
Those who follow a charismatic leader must be loyal and identify with the leader at all times. They must be self-assured of the skills and abilities of their leader, performance should be beyond expectation ad follow the leader with respect and obedience.
