Paying the Congress

The discussion on what the Congress is paid to do for the American nation is an interesting one. Among the things that happen within the Congress, especially the discussions and the debates create a sense of doubt on whether it is worthy to keep on paying them for the work they do. Specifically, the political standoff that they create during their discussions makes it a bit harder for America to move ahead, not only as a nation but as a superpower. One example is the move to undo or void most of the U.S regulations that had been put in place by the outgoing president, Barack Obama by the Republicans their zeal to wipe out the traces of a regime that they did not like at all. Some of the agenda that Obama had, from a personal point of view was good for the nation. An example is the health bill which sparks heavy discussions. From my views, I would prefer a system where the Congress members are paid or rewarded based on how much they contribute to the growth and stability of the nation.
