the students for 6-1 are Professor LaPrade, Andre and Lewis the students for 6-2 Andre and Lewis the questions are added and they are different you can use the references and articles that the students used.

6-1     question    Describe the differences between the main four categories of the CPI assessment. How can this assessment lead to a better understanding of self and how the individual interacts to others? Explain.
Try this.  Professor LaPrade     CPI is a monster assessment.  It is over 400 questions and focuses on measuring and understanding common interpersonal behaviors.  Below is the list of the behaviors it assesses.  I have never met a coach who used this assessment, however, that does not make it usefulness, especially coaches who have a background in psychology or as psychologist themselves.  It gets into the weeds of behavior and for some, that is where the truth  lies.  The other side of this coin is I have never known a coach who has taken the CPI so it is hard to evaluate its usefulness for many.  I have several suggestions for all of you.  First, take the CPI and look at you through its eyes.  I did this three years ago and I was surprised how much it had to offer me.  Secondly, instead of looking at the entire assessment, review two or three of the behaviors in detail from the following list, and design two or three coaching questions you would craft to a client who was high on that scale.  For example, if it indicated a high level of empathy, you might ask:  The CPI indicates you demonstrate a high level of empathy in your behavior.  Do you agree with this?  Tell me some examples in your life where you see this trait in action?  What are your impressions of the level of empathy of those around you?  Is empathy important to you?  Can you tell me more about that?  Do you think your level of empathy has been useful in achieving your goals?  etc.
Dominance  Capacity for Status, Sociability, Social Presence, Self-Acceptance, Independence, Empathy
Responsibility, Socialization, Self-Control, Good Impression, Communality, Sense of Well-Being
Tolerance, Achievement via Conformance, Achievement via Independence, Intellectual Efficiency
Psychological-Mindedness, Flexibility, Femininity-Masculinity
Andre,    The CPI is similar to the MMPI in that it measures aspects of personality. It differs however in that the MMPI measures maladjustments in personality and the CPI measures effective social function. The CPI measurements are calculated in four categories. Interpersonal aspects of personality, internal value and normative expectations, achievement needs and cognitive tendencies and stylistic preferences.
The first category are the interpersonal aspects, which is interpersonal effectiveness, or the ability to interact with others. The aspects of this category are attention to relationships, maintaining the balance of priorities versus demands, balancing “wants” vs. “shoulds” and building a sense of mastery and self-respect (CPI, n.d.). This category also assesses one’s goals for social interactions. The ability to interact with others can be assessed by examining the ability to gain one’s social objective, the ability to maintain relationships and self-respect (Gough & Bradley, 1996).
The next category is one’s internal values and normative expectations. This looks at one’s ability to invest efforts to enhance the social environment and minimize negative occurrences in the social environment behavior. In this aspect, people should have positive attitudes toward social interactions without the influence of social pressure to perform pro-social behavior (Fang, 2017).The third category is the achievement needs and cognitive tendencies to meet those needs. This is where one exhibits motivation, persistence, and organization. High scores in this area indicate that the person has a high degree of ability to access intellectual resources. Lower scores indicate one might be reluctant and has less ability to draw on their resources except when absolutely necessary (CPI, n.d.).
The fourth category assesses stylistic preferences for things such as insightfulness, adaptability, and sensitivity (CPI. n.d). High scores indicate that one is perceptive, open minded, and attuned to their surroundings. Low scores indicate a desire for stable, predictable environments.
This assessment can give one valuable interaction into their social interactions and relationship skills. It can identify target areas that one can improve upon to bring more quality to their relationships and enhance their self-image.References

Lewis        When you are on lockdown there are so many things you can do to fill the time. You can learn to
cook something new, read a book or even take assessments. Because I love to torture myself I took the CPI
assessment. 434 true/false questions.Around question 200 I was questioning doing thisAround question 300 I had a urge to bang my face into my tableAt question 400 I was begging for it to endAt question 434 I was telling myself there was no way on this planet I am going to analyze the results to this thing.https://ap.themyersbriggs.com/content/Research%20and%20White%20Papers/CPI/Data_Guide_-_CPITM_434_Inventory.pdfI strongly encourage any sadist out there to click the above link and enjoy the next hour or two of your life.Being that this assessment borders the cruel and just outright mean approach to analyzing anyone for anything the odds of me using this assessment is about zero.Self-assurance, interpersonal abilities –Values and expectationsNeeds and tendenciesLastly one’s ability to be adaptiveOverall it is great that it covers so many things, even to some degree pointing in which job might be best suited for someone. BUT the length of time that it takes to take this assessment, my general humbug attitude and the degree of torture one might want to inflict on another person, shows me that it would take a special type of coach with a even more special type of client to want to sit down and take this assessment.
6-2  question        For what situations would the CPI assessment be most appropriate or applicable? Explain.Andre   The purpose of the California Psychological Inventory is to measure and evaluate interpersonal behavior and social interaction within normal individuals. The situations that would be useful to initiate a CPI assessment are in cases of substance use treatment, management training programs and in correctional facilities used to predict recidivism. This is since the CPI can be used to predict individual behavior as well as how others will interpret the behavior (http://www.cpp.com). Since it has historically been used in school, business and governmental organizations, I can apply it in my coaching practice for use with college students, nurses, church leaders and clients who report that their substance use may affect their ability to fully benefit from the coaching process.

Lewis   Don’t let what or how I am giving this answer come off as me blowing off the question or the work. But what kind of mean and nasty human being would want to give this assessment to anyone that they were NOT mad at? Social interaction of a “normal person” is great. It’s a interesting baseline. It even helps line up job types. I want to be the CEO of a business, but it might be just a ditch digging business. (I’ll be the best ditch digger ever) Again sure it can help pinpoint where there might be issues with ability or performance, the assessment itself is….long….very very long. Never mind that the assessment is horribly outdated, oddly presumptive (My dad died when I was 3, really hard to put any type of value on him or questions pertaining to him. “The California Psychological Inventory (CPI; Gough, 1957, 1987, 1996) has been in widespread use in both research and applied personnel-assessment settings for more than 40 years. If it is not the most researched personality test for use with normal populations, it must rank close to the top of this list, with more than 2,000 citations of it in published articles reported in the literature over the last 40 years” (Hakstian 2001) Look this might be fantastic to use in some modified form in corporate America, but as a general use tool I’ll stand by what I said that it is a long outdated assessment that is only relevant in a certain demographic. I could not see a common coach or even a run of the mill business using this.  Hakstian, A. R., & Farrell, S. (2001). An Openness scale for the California Psychological Inventory. This is an interesting post. I agree with you that the CPI is a monster assessment and it has over 400 questions. The assessment tool focuses on understanding and measuring common interpersonal behavior. First I would like to state that the CPI also assesses the level of motivation and satisfaction among individuals (Soto & John, 2009). It also measures socialization, character, and responsibility values an individual has. I like the fact that you have mentioned the CPI also measures the level of empathy individual has. Good discussion.

It is indeed true that the CPI is the same as the MMPI because it measures the aspects of personality. However, I would like to state that these two assessment tools have a slight similarity. MMPI measures the maladjustments in personality while the CPI measures effective social function (Fang, Ng, Wang &Hsu, 2017). The CPI gauges social communication and interaction behaviors of a person. I like the fact that you have given four categories in which the CPI is measured. Good discussion Andrei.
