The topic according to Richard Fry’s research is ‘Millennials aren’t job-hopping any faster than Generation X did.” The article sought to determine the job-hopping tendencies of employees aged 18 to 35 years by determining employees working under the same employer through data from the U.S. Department of Labor dating from 2000. The research seeks to answer the question, do the millennial employees job-hop more that Generation X did (Fry, 2017 April 19, pp. 1).
The research utilized social surveys. A survey is instituted in research through questionnaires to collect necessary information (Strayer University, 2015). Researchers got data by conducting a population survey of the labor workforce of 18-35-year-olds to determine how long they stayed with the same employer. Information collected included their ages, education level, and job tenure
The research findings were that millennials employed and who held the same job for 13months were 63.4 percent, while Generation X employees of the same age by 2000 accounted for 59.9 percent.
