Research About Algae:importance To Meet The Needs Of Human Beings

Essay Instructions:

Brief:
Prepare a detailed investment proposal for a project based on
the design and manufacture of a modular production system capable of
manufacturing high-quality protein food supplements from algae.
Please do some research based on these questions:
1) Where can we find Algae?
2)How can Algae be used?
3)Customer demographics ( Who will use? What kind of people should we focus? How can people use use high-quality protein food from algae? )
For (3), I have attached a ppt., please take a look and write based on it.

Research About Algae
Algae has shown its potential importance to meet the needs of human beings for a more substantial food supply, particularly the high demand for proteins. We found out that algal sources of protein are more promising and has several advantages hence its preference to the readily available sources form the environment and animals (Sharma & Shah, 2010). We have a project that will use utilize microalgae and its production of bioactive compounds which are critical to the health of human beings. This system will obtain the natural form of micro algae and with the help of Technology Readiness Level (TRL), we will gradually change and increase the currently lagging microalgae cultivation and processing.
The developed production system will manufacture algal proteins in high yields using the enzymatic method and standard solvent procedures. These methods are used to extract proteins from seaweed and microalgae (Ganesan & West, 2013). We chose the two products because they can produce the same amount of proteins as the traditional ingredients of meat and beans, among others. We extract proteins from farmed seaweed and its seaweed such as Gracilara spp. And Porphyra spp (Gadalkar, Gogate & Rathod, 2016). Other sources of protein are brown algae which contain the nutrients in its multicellular forms such as Macrocystis pyrifera, Undaria pinnatifida, Hizikia fusiformis and Laminaria japonica. The microalgae sources of proteins are Arthrospira platensis, Chlorella vulgar, and Splurina (VV, 2013). These extracted forms of proteins will then be purified using chemical methods and packed for consumption as protein supplements.
Algae, apart from being one of the primary sources of natural proteins, has other extensive uses which only proves our preference to its products. Firstly, algae is critical in creating biofuel which is only explained by the numerous oil companies that has, over time, shown their interest in increasing their productions. Secondly, algae is important because it does not require too much land to be grown and extract its products. Algae can grow right about anywhere compared to other sources of protein such as beans, peas, corn and wheat which take up a lot of land. Thirdly, algae can be fed to animals since it contains a high protein even in its natural form (Lonnie, 2018). In addition, part from being used as a source of energy, algae can be used to manufactu...
