Positive social changes refer to the alteration of behavior patterns, cultural values, and norms to provide a better working condition for any personnel in the modern day society. In a military setting where responsible men and women from different races, gender, religions, and cultures join with the aim of defending the nation on matters concerning insecurity. The social behavior in the military has previously been rigid and unchanged and also the military has been used as a test bed for social changes leading to alterations of the Army missions. As a social change activist, I have had significant responsibility in fighting for positive social change with an objective of empowering the next generation. The idea is to eliminate instances of biased policies, discriminatory practices and forms of inequality in the society. Specifically, in the military today, I can take credit for being a frontrunner in advocating for women recruitment in the military, equal rights to the gay and transgendered persons in the army, religious accommodation for grooming, deployment and relocation stress and the physical fitness of the military members. However, some people still oppose the integration of women in the military as they argue that it could change the reason for the war since women have more needs in comparison to men (Beder, 2012). In a military mission the members depend on each other during life and death situations; therefore, they should trust each other completely (Beder, 2012). Men in the troops are urged not to undermine the women or segregate themselves due to the gender differences, instead, they should focus on the performance of the tasks to conduct the missions.
From the fact that the military is made up of men and women who can either be bisexuals, heterosexuals, homosexuals or transgender, they ought to be given equal rights and the same amount...
