They say, "A leader leads by example, not by force." in china. However, being a Chinese native, I never got to experience such a thing in my household. Hi, I am a Chinese student currently residing in China. Our family is not that huge like the ones I have heard in foreign. A total of four people are living in my house. My father, the major bread-winner. My mother, an accountant, my life coach., and an average IQ student in college.
Being a Chinese native wasn't as easy for me as they say in the books. Life here is difficult, and my father added to the challenge. My dad is a person, what many people would say, a successful man in life. He provides us with our smallest of needs to the largest. However, if you doubt that I would be some spoiled kid of the house who does not value the smallest things in life, that is not the case. Like I said earlier, growing up in my house was not an easy task. I gained this perspective as I grew up and became mature enough to understand what was going around in my home. My dad was not an ideal husband or even a father. He indeed earned a lot, but the guy wasn't qualified to be a proper leader at home. My father practiced the autocratic leadership style around the house, which was annoying. Whatever decision he made was of utmost significance, and we had to follow absolutely. His word was like a carved mark on a stone, unchangeable. They say, "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." So, it would be better if I supported my latter statement with a story as a piece of evidence.

I had the plan to pursue my passion for restoration architecture because I always wanted to restore old and antique structures. So, I discussed it with my parents, to which my mother agreed upon, saying, "Chase whatever your interest is in." However, my father was not that supportive of my decision. He commanded me to pursue the field of bachelor's in landscape architecture. He thought and still thinks to this very day that I cannot make my own decisions. These things frustrated me the most. I had always imagined my father to have a say in my life, though I was shocked when he challenged my career decision-making. I mean, this was my passion, my interest we were talking about. It wasn't like our job market was fully efficient. China, at that time, was also subjected to significant unemployment. People had to face many challenges in finding new suitable jobs. However, because my father had ordered it, doing majors in the landscape became necessary for me. As much as I loved pursuing the field of my choice, I was unable to go against the will of my dad.
I knew my dad was not an unreasonable person; at least he thought that. It wasn't his fault that he had a dictator personality. My grandfather was almost the same as my dad, maybe even more strict. He also made all the decisions in his house and never let anyone indulge in his personal affairs. So, in short, my dad seeing my grandpa's way of autocratic leading, evidently took after his personality traits. That is why my father wasn't the one to ...
