Introduction
The reputation that Congresswoman Maxine Moore Waters (D) Rep of 43rd Congressional District of California as a an outspoken fearless defender of women rights, people of color, children and the poor has made her to be considered by many as one of the most powerful women in American politics currently. In 2018, she was elected by her district to serve her fifteenth term as a congresswoman garnering more than 70 percent of the total votes cast. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She started serving in 1991 at California`s 29th District between 1991-1993, 35th District in the period between 1993-2013 and currently serves at the 43rd District. Of all the twelve black women serving in the US Congress, she is the senior most. Her party loyalty, outspoken critic of President Trump and a strong believer and advocate of her ideologies, Maxine Waters, is indeed a candidate to write about.
Maxine Waters was born in the year 1938 at St. Louis Missouri. She is the daughter of Carr Remus and Lee Velma. In her family, she was the fifth child in a family of thirteen children. She suffered single parenting, after the father left her mother when she was just at the age of two years. It is from such a background that Maxine is seen by her supporters as a defender of women and children. In 1961, she moved with her entire family to Los Angeles, California after her graduation from Vashon High school. She worked at garment factories, and some telephone companies. She was able to get her education from California State University in Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Her career thus begun as a volunteer and teacher and thus marked her entree in the public service. Currently, she is married to Sidney Williams who was at one time the ambassador of USA to Bahamas Commonwealth, has two children and two grandchildren.
The paper seeks to examine Maxine Waters in her congressional district 43rd in California. It will establish her influence on policies, her ideologies, voting patterns in the house, legislation she has sponsored, donors and contributions and how her environment has affected her politics and if she is delivering to the expectations of her constituents. Accordingly, the paper will analyze the role of personal ambitions, the presidency and party politics in the political survival of her voter base or core voters.

A Democrat Maxine Waters currently represents 43rd congressional district in California. The district has a center in the southern Los Angeles County. The cities of Hawthorne, Gardena, Inglewood, Lawndale, and Lomita are part of the congressional district.

The district is 72 square miles with approximately 10,350.6 residents per square mile.
