Man-Made Pollution is the Leading Cause of Global Warming
Thesis statement: Greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, industrialization, and gases emitted from transportation, which are all man-made pollution, are the leading causes of global warming.
* Greenhouse gas emissions are widely identified by the scientific community to be hazardous to the environment.
* For the longest time, Greenhouse gases have made the earth habitable for humans and animals by trapping heat from the sun.
* Despite its importance, the gas is now out of balance, contributing to global warming (Zhang, 2019).
* High greenhouse gas concentrations adversely affect the earth's climate and weather.
* Carbon dioxide is portrayed as the largest percentage of greenhouse gas emitted to the atmosphere, and its primary source is the combustion of organic materials such as oil and coal (Sunstein, 2016).
* The gas is noted to linger in the atmosphere, and this is said to take a million years (Rabie, 2018)
* The other gas that makes up a significant percentage of greenhouse gases is nitrous oxide.
* It accounts for 6% of greenhouse gas emissions but is thought to be more powerful than carbon dioxide (White, 2017).
* The biggest source of this harmful gas is burning fuel and agricultural residues (Turner, 2015).
* Consequently, global warming is caused by a high concentration of this gas in the atmosphere, leading to increased wildfires and extreme weather conditions experienced globally.
* Industrial gases such as hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and nitrogen trifluoride also make up part of the greenhouse gases (Jobborov, 2021).
* They are depicted to have a much higher potential to trap heat in comparison to carbon dioxide as they stay longer in the atmosphere.
* These gases are majorly used as refrigerants and in manufacturing industries.
* Global warming has greatly resulted from deforestation in most parts of the world.
* Humans have cut down trees for building and heating purposes without replanting them, which has adversely affected weather patterns in most places (Yoro, 2020).
* Trees play a significant role in trapping carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. When they are cut down, this gas concentration increases, leading to greenhouse effects.
* Deforestation also occurs in most places because individuals want to find land to increase livestock farming (Herndon, 2018).
* The effect of an increase in livestock farming is that as animals digest food, they tend to produce a high amount of methane, which leads to various greenhouse effects.
* Human transportation and electricity generation also significantly contribute to the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere (Appannagari, 2017).
* Burning fossil fuels from cars, trains, and even planes lead to high greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere (Holtsmark, 2015).
* Most of the fuel used for trans...
