What I have gained most from this diversity and cross-cultural understanding course is the value of including people of other backgrounds and experiences in discussions and debates. Learning about different cultures, customs, and ways of life demonstrates the importance of diversity for personal development (Bechervaise, 2022). You can use this information professionally and informally. Considering alternative viewpoints can reveal previously hidden knowledge, leading to more effective issue-solving. When everyone on a team contributes their unique strengths, the whole is stronger than the sum of its parts. The importance of expanding my knowledge of the world outside of the United States is growing.
