The US criminal justice system experiences numerous uses that hinder its effectiveness in fairly serving Americans. This criminal justice system currently experiences issues: police retention and recruitment, lack of resource parity between the prosecution and public defenders, and the system's public perception. In police retention and recruitment, reform is necessary to ensure officers are satisfied with their jobs and reduce turnovers (Wilson et al., 2010). Through reforms, agencies can retain and attract future workers through fostering compensation. Police recruitment and retention is ethical because police since the quality of services they offer is related to the quality of personnel they hire, recruit, and retain.
