Critical Reflection Essay
In this class, I have learned how gender has shaped and influenced work in the U.S. I have also learned some of the challenges that women face in their work today. Furthermore, our readings have opened some of the underlying reasons behind the rising number of women in the paid works and how they determine feminism. Arguably, our society has been associated with tasks that involve caregiving and cleaning while jobs that require the operation of machines and other technical work left for men. Therefore, I think for a long time, women have been considered to be weaker sex in the sense that they are assigned jobs that require less energy. All women, regardless of race, religion, or language, should be entitled to the same pay. Furthermore, I think if this inequality continues, it will lead to the rise of more and more movements that agitate for equality in the workforce. Thus, the readings of this class have sharpened my reasoning on matters related to gender and the workforce in the U.S.
Furthermore, I have engaged in discussions with my class peers on gender equality in the workforce. The majority of my peers are convinced that few wom...
