The Importance of a Constitutional Approach to American Public Administration
The constitutional approach to American public administration means the insistence to refer to the constitution during the implementation of any government policy. This method has many advantages which provide a democratic framework to implement policies that will ultimately ensure that citizens enjoy proper administrative practices. The American public administration has and should be governed by all the principles contained in the constitution and must apply to organs of state, public enterprises and all other spheres of government CITATION Wis93 \l 1033 (Wise, May-June 1993).
Firstly, the constitutional approach will ensure an efficient and effective use of public resources. The laws enshrined in a constitution are significant in any process of distributing resources in different regions. People in government are also barred from corruptly using resources meant for the public good. Without a clear framework for managing the resources of the American government, the economy is prone to suffer.
Secondly, this approach fosters a high level of transparency in the provision of information to the people. Any information concerning the administration should be accurate. The constitution provides that the citizens have a right to information and when that happens it should be accurate and readily available ranging from the financial statements of different public companies to other state owned resources.
