Problems are social when they are associated with a social cause or effect, and the environmental problem is one such issue that represents the cause-effect relationship of the environmental factors. Human life is unsustainable when there are little or no efforts to protect the environment, as there is a need to consider ecological balance. The rapidly growing population has strained resources resulting in higher pollution levels and environmental degradation (Lauer & Lauer, 2014). However, focusing on sustainability and factors upsetting the ecological system is necessary to maintain the ecological balance (Lauer & Lauer, 2014).
The view that people should exploit the available resources for profits merely focuses on the short term ignoring the long term effects likely to affect more people in the future (Lauer & Lauer, 2014). At other times, corporations exploit resources without focusing on sustainability, even as they disproportionately affect the minority. It is possible to address environmental pollution after raining awareness on the effects of pollution on health, quality of life and the ecosystem. Toxic environments tend be clustered in certain areas depending on human activities, and efforts towards protecting the environment. Setting aside more resources to improve sanitation and reduce pollution is vital to reducing the risk of death from preventable causes.
The industrial basis of the economy and the population growth still remain the main factors still increasing the risk of environmental pollution. It may be necessary to look into other sources of energy, to meet the energy needs of a growing population. Adopting conservati...
