David says that he would never disclose the private information of his clients like relationship status, gender or kind of car driven. He has learned a lot from personal experiences and knows how to handle uncertain situations and make the right decisions. He believes that knowing your clients is essential as it helps handle all inappropriate situations (Park et al., 2017).
According to Caprina, during her time in the Mental Health field, she has gained enough knowledge and learned why it is vital to protect the personal details of clients. She thinks that clients should speak of themselves during their meetings with the counselor, and the counselor should assure that their information will never be shared with anyone, at any cost (Rufai, 2015).
Deborah argues that it is important for a counselor to understand the mentality of his clients, maintain a therapeutic alliance with them, and take them into confidence that everything will be alright. If he does not understand their feelings, it may not be possible for the counselor to provide proper treatment to his clients with chronic diseases (Manchak et al., 2014).
David is of the view that a counselor needs to know where his clients are in his life. If they are his priority, the counselor will be able to help the clients recover from the diseases in a better way. Whenever possible, he should offer sympathy and moral support to all of his clients (Asasi & Assasi, 2016).
