Based on Mark 4, why did Jesus teach in parables?
Jesus relied on parables to teach since it was the common style of teaching in the day. The teachings of Jesus using the parables were resonating to the common practices. The teachers that had a better way of telling stories or parables were capable of attracting a large crowd of followers as opposed to the ones that used straight talk. Parables were also easier to remember and apply since the parables drew from the real life examples of the lives of the people. The lesson would be easily noted in the event that one was found in the similar situation to the characters that were in the stories.
