Management, effort, and attention are needed for good relations, but investment benefits in numerous ways. For both mental and physical health, unique bonds with others are essential. Smith (2016) supports the idea that we are more likely to be healthy and live longer if we have strong, caring relations with other people. I can apply Smith's insights to the issue of race relations by ensuring satisfaction in racial relationships. Happy relationships promote career success, and we feel more secure and happier. On the other hand, poor relationships can encourage depression, drug abuse, problems with weight, and other mental health conditions.
