Introduction
The Federal reserve is the most powerful financial and economic institution in the USA. Serving as the central bank of the USA, the Federal reserve has the mandate to promote stability of US’s financial institutions, conduct and promote sound monetary policies, conduct supervision and regulation of financial institutions, and promote consumer protection and overall community development. While operating within its set roles and mandates, there is evidence, from a biblical perspective, that the institution has overstepped some biblical principles. This paper, explores two examples, drawing upon biblical and non-biblical sources to assess the intersection of religious values and federal government economic policies.
