           Scholars frequently have distinguished pop culture from folk and elite or high cultures based on various lifestyles such as foods consumed. While grandma’s casserole is unique to the folk culture, a MacDonald’s hamburger is ordinary in pop culture, and the elite tends to adopt a gourmet meal (Forbes & Mahan, 2000). Beyond the food realm, culture refers to human thoughts surrounding life and their transmission to respective audiences. The three cultures also differ in the size of the audience and how cultural messages are transmitted.
