Ambiguity Assignment.
I am from the Buddhism religion. I decided to attend the Roman Catholic Church on a Sunday according to the requirement of this assignment. In Buddhism, we believe in meditation, good behavior, spiritual and physical labor, and human life is of suffering (Britannica). Conversely, the Catholic Church believes in one God following bible teachings written by people inspired by God, Trinity, and immortality of one's soul, each accountable for their life on earth. Also, I learned that Catholics get into a relationship with God through prayers. Being a completely different religion from mine, I had my own fears attending the service. However, I applied various techniques to help through the service.
First, I stayed calm and positive. Being in a new religion for the first time can be overwhelming, and fear sometimes tends to take over. I was prepared psychologically to be open-minded and do everything as it is being done. At the beginning of the service, they all stand and recite prayers together. The church provided books and materials for songs and prayers, making it easier to follow the service. Even though I did not have much context on the procedures, being calm helped me stay until the end of service.
Secondly, I chose to stick with what I know and what I don’t know. During the service, the priest presented the Eucharist and administered the Holy Communion to the congregation. The Holy Communion consists of bread and wine. The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus Christ, while wine represents the blood of Jesus. Clearly, before eatin...
