The Diana R. Garland School of Social Work is an excellent platform that prepares social workers to exhibit important leadership and service with a focus on their Christianity elements. Firstly, the mission statement emphasizes the institution’s aim of producing graduates who use service and leadership to improve social welfare at the global level. This includes participating in activities such as empowerment, housing, and access to healthcare among vulnerable people in society. The institution primarily targets poor people, families, and community members facing problems of unemployment, access to safe medical care, drug abuse, and homelessness. I think providing service is very significant for workers since it positively influences society to work towards mutual goals. Besides, employing proper leadership skills ensures the social workers use transparency and accountability to improve the well-being of each individual in society irrespective of their age, gender, religious affiliations, and other backgrounds.
The second part of the mission statement is to ethically integrate religious faith with social work practice. This means that social workers must provide community services while taking into account the spiritual development of the community members.
