Act Six- New Creation
Among the six acts of God, the six act about the new creation gives Christians new hope that God would come back and take them to His kingdom where they would live for eternity. The new creation is scattered in the whole Bible, but the clear description is given in the Book of Revelation chapters 21 to 22. The new creation is described as a new world where God, man, and animals will live together in the new heaven, and new earth as the sea that separates heaven from the earth will be no more. There will be no more suffering or chaos as all these will be eliminated by the power of God, and all new goodness will be created as the old order will change into something new (Allan, 2016). There are several details of God’s final act of the new creation.
The new creation does not entirely mean that the people will leave earth and ascend to heaven but rather God’s kingdom, also known as new Jerusalem as shown in the Bible, will come down from heaven and restore peace on earth, this is narrated better in the Book of Mathew chapter 6:10 and Revelations chapter 22:1-2 (Bartholomew and Goheen, 2014). Here God will have fulfilled His promise to the Israelites as He will restore or rebuild His kingdom on earth where He will stay with his people forever and ever, and this is explained or recorded in the Book of Isiah in different chapters, including chapter 11:6-9, chapter 35, and chapter 65:17-25.
