Essay Instructions:

Units 3 and 4 have been devoted to understanding physical development in infancy/toddlerhood, childhood, and adolescence. For this Assignment, please use the Unit 4 Assignment Template to write a descriptive essay describing major trends in physical changes from infancy/toddlerhood, early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence, by focusing on body growth and motor development.
Provide one detailed example of the two types of physical development for each stage and be sure to cite the textbook information/research findings to support your ideas.
For each of the four stages explain:
How heredity (nature) and the environment (nurture) can influence physical growth.
Your assignment should be a 2-page descriptive essay, not including the title and reference pages, and should include the following elements:
Title page: Provide your name, title of assignment, course and section number, and date.
Body: Answer all the questions in complete sentences and paragraphs.

Introduction
As children grow up, they undergo various bodily transformations. The physical growth of children is the result of numerous changes in order (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2015). There are some age groups in which the growth of youngsters occurs quickly and subsequently slows down. On the other hand, children tend to display gradual but constant increases in both height and weight throughout middle childhood (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2015). The paper will focus on the physical development of children at each step, how physical activity may assist or restrict physical growth, and ultimately, the effect of nature and nurture on physical development in each phase.
Physical changes in infancy/toddlerhood
Of course, children grow in size and weight. As time passes, their senses get more developed. They also get better at moving about and controlling things as time goes on. The next presentation will go over each of these important aspects of physical development. Everything from height, weight, eye color, and other physical features to behavioral patterns in success, intellect, and drive is influenced by our parent's genes (Baillargeon, 2015). The biology of a kid may have a significant impact on its development, so as parents and teachers, we can grasp the science behind the bodies and brains of our children, the better we can nurture them with their whole potential and their healthiest, happiest self. For example, a 3-6 month child learns to push his elbows in a tendency and may ultimately push them up (Baillargeon, 2015). These are starting to build the shoulder stability and the arch in hand, which are subsequently utilized for strengthening exercises and coordination like pitching the ball or precision, such as writing.
Physical changes in middle childhood
During middle childhood, growth rates tend to decelerate. Each year, a child adds five to seven pounds and develops around two inches. Prepubescent growth trends impact both men and girls, although, in females (around 9-10), it happens sooner than in children (around age 11-12). Consequently, at the end of middle childhood, women are frequently bigger than boys. Medium-aged youngsters lose weight, build muscle strength and increase their lung capacity, enabling them to enjoy long periods of physical effort (Campbell, 2017). Physical development slows significantly throughout middle childhood. The slow growth rate has increased engine capacity. At this age, young people tend to improve their abilities in motors like cycling and fingernail cutting.
Consequently, children have a specific potential that their parents have to inherit and can improve their skills according to their environment and learning opportunities. As a result, if you grow up in an inappropriate environment with little or nothing stimulation, a youngster with high genetic potential cannot fully exploit that (Campbell, 2017). A kid with a lesser intrinsic potential, on the other hand, can dramatically improve their performance if they are raised in or exposed to a stimulating environment.
