Autism spectrum disorder is a brain condition that affects how an individual perceives and socializes with others which causes issues in social interaction and communication (Mandal, 2019). In some cases, the disorder includes a limited and repetitive pattern of behavior. Historically, there are instructional strategies used for children with ASD. The use of visuals, use of concrete language, and treating ASD children as individuals are some of the historical instructional strategies I would prefer. I believe they are accurate and would help ASD children learn and become better rather than using other illustrative strategies that tend to assume all children are equal (Mandal, 2019).
