Children who grow up in poor backgrounds and low-income families go through many challenges that can have unfavorable health and social consequences during childhood and adulthood. Childhood poverty increases the risk of developing Early Childhood Experiences, increases the probability of developing adult respiratory conditions, and also increases the severity of chronic illness in children. Children who grow up in low-income households are at risk of developing ACEs. These experiences have increased the probability of a child developing infections across their lifetime. For instance, patients with an Early Childhood Experiences score of 4 are more likely to develop hepatitis than patients with zero ACE (Wise, 2016). Respiratory conditions could have been developed out of lung development or the development of asthma in children. Children brought in poor families will easily be influenced to behaviors of smoking, physical activity, and diet preferences which will have an effect on their adult health for instance leading to breathing problems.
