F.A.S Test
A F.A.S, a subtest of neurosensory focus and a subset of verbal fluency, is a mental test that facilitates data retrieval from memory. The psychological test challenges the participant to recall as many words as possible. The test detects any cognitive impairment and dementia in an individual. The frontal lobe is a key target for this test as it involves the coordination and initiation of motor movements, including higher cognitive abilities such as problem-solving, planning, organizing, and personality-emotional makeup (Barry et al., 2008).
What was your experience doing the task?
The experience with the F.A.S test can be described as a “think fast, think narrow” situation. The test forces an individual to think fast but within a closed boundary. For example, the test forced the individual to think of letters beginning with F within one minute.
