Connor’s story is quite saddening and I am glad he managed to turn things around and share his story with others who could be going through a similar ordeal. Connor’s experiences relate to stage 5 of Erikson’s Psychological development model. Connor’s addiction story started when he was in grade 7, which shows he was about 13 years of age, exactly where stage 5 of the model begins. I can deduce that the risk factors that contributed to his addition are social and psychological factors. Socially, the influence of his peers drove him to start and continue using drugs.
