Drug trafficking is the involve manufacturing and distribution of prohibited drugs to the world. The marketing process entails drug cartels which include manufacturers, wholesale distributors, and retail distributors. Jeffries and Chuenurah (2019) assert that many criminal activities are at the center of all the operations in the cartels. The leaders count on the high level of secrecy from the entire team. In case of any betrayal, the traitor becomes an enemy to the cartel. In most cases, the cartel kills the betrayer instantly, or some survive by finding protection in a rival cartel. Moreover, the different cartels respect each other's territory and avoid any form of disagreement. They enter into agreements that prevent one from offending the rivals. Besides, dealers can grow their operations from retail to wholesale after a while. After capturing a massive number of clients, they attract distributors on a high level, increases the number of drugs they access, ending up creating new cartels (Jeffries & Chuenurah, 2019). Other young distributors kill their leaders and replace their position.
