The article "A violent birth: reframing coerced procedures during childbirth as obstetric violence" focuses on women being coerced and forced to go through cesarean sections (C.S.s), episiotomies in the U.S., and use of forceps (Borges, 2017). However, the legal system fails to address this. Sometimes physicians and criminal justice agents override women's choices and ignore their autonomy (Borges, 2017). Cesarean sections lack consent, and shared decision‐making is a concern, but there is a challenge to deal with the issue when there are court‐ordered C.S.s.
