Climate Change
Climate change is a significant phenomenon that poses specific challenges in contemporary global society. It is defined as long-term adjustments in the weather patterns and temperatures (Caney, 2015). The identified shifts can either be artificial or natural, depending on the causes. Artificial change is promoted by human activities that significantly impact the global climate, such as burning fossil fuels and the solar cycle. For instance, burning fossil fuel produces different products that alter the normal climatic cycle. The most vital part is that the identified changes adversely impact the human population. The burned products go to the extent of raising temperatures, thus leading to the greenhouse effect. Methane and carbon dioxide are two gases that promote the greenhouse effect. Climate change may result from complex phenomena such as buying fuels; however, simple activities such as clearing forests still adversely lead to climate change due to excess carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Methane may also result from landfills which promote climate change. Therefore, climate change is resolvable by focusing on efficient adaptation. Unfortunately, some cultures do not concentrate on collective input in adapting to climate change (Alexandra, 2021). The primary issue that stimulates climate change is a poor approach. Different cultures do not focus on reliable approaches to adapting to climate change, a critical problem in society. Management of climate change should not be single-oriented; it should consider collective input from different stakeholders and efficient consideration of supply chain ideologies (Dasaklis & Pappis, 2013). Climate change is a critical global societal problem that affects different populations, thus requiring adequate climatic adaptation.
Background Information of Climate Change
Climate change did not emerge recently; it is a historical issue with a specific background. The phenomenon began in the 19th century (Etterson & Shaw, 2013). It began simply with shifts in the paleoclimate, which contributed to different greenhouse effects. Etterson & Shaw (2013) discovered that poor cultural perceptions and artificial practices adversely led to imbalances in the global climate. Different cultures and societies did not initially understand the factors contributing to climate change which contributed to poor adaptation. The concept of climate change originated in the 1890s due to the theoretical aspect of warming the earth. The idea was also established to regulate adverse impacts that would promote poor climate management. More researchers focused on suitable processes to reduce the warming effects. However, appropriate adaptation was not considered a key solution to the problem. Also, many shifts and concerns were evident with specific opinions to promote positive climate adaptation.
Additionally, from 1930, more scientists claimed that carbon emissions were the primary causative agent of the warming effect. More engineers and human activists came on board to understand the link between carbon emissions and human health (Asprogerakas et al., 2021). Different societies also noted...
