The issues that could be alleviated by “think globally, act locally” perspective are poverty alleviation, access to education, hunger, women’s empowerment, environmental degradation and health equity. Think globally act locally holds that the world’s environmental problems could be solved by taking little actions at the local level such as a community or a network; it is significant to understand the economic, ecological and cultural variances of the local surroundings.
The local issue is hunger; people are dying because there is a shortage of food. Hunger occurs when a person cannot get food to eat because it is not available, or their prices are high such that some people cannot afford. Hunger is one of the global issues being discussed across the world; various programs and efforts have been devised on a global scale to solve the issue of hunger. On the global scale, organizations such as World Food Programme, Action against Hunger, Stop hunger now, Freedom from Hunger, Bread for the hungry, and Food for the Hungry.
