Networking has evolved into a significant aspect of contemporary communication and decision-making processes. However, the critical evaluation shows that the networks have significant strengths as well as weaknesses that need to be evaluated intensively. For instance, some networks are heavily reliant on specific individuals. As such, the networks are subject to fail when the individual leaves. Further, critics cite inequalities in contributions as a major challenge. Based on this premise, it is cited that some individuals take more than they give to the networks (Muir, 2009). Also, critics view bureaucratic models in the networks as a fundamental impediment to decision-making processes. Some of the networks are thus too rigid and un-accommodative of new ideas. Innovation is stifled making the sustainable competition a major challenge.
