In the case of Xiaomi, the most material social and environmental impact of sustainability performs is improved livings standards of the global population. According to the 2020 Annual Report of the organization, Xiaomi employs a wide range of sustainability and empowerment initiatives to decrease environmental damages and social problems that are vulnerable due to the rapid technological advancements of the 21st Century. The initiatives target at least one of the following categories: decreased carbon emission, elevated energy efficiency, alleviation of packaging materials that are not environmentally friendly, economic empowerment of the common people, and adherence to high safety and health measures. The combination of the different initiatives results in effective sustainability strategies because of creating an all-inclusive management system.
