Q 1. What are the most important qualities an effective leader should have?
Key qualities any leader should have, are integrity, accountability, and vision. Integrity is the foundation of great leadership qualities. A leader must be appreciative of employees’ time, and efforts while downplaying their own success. A leader whose accountable shows responsibility for their own actions and behavior thus building trust with employees. A visionary leader decisively sets the organization’s goals and steers it towards achievement.
Q 2. What is the importance of trust in leadership?
Leadership trust creates a strong and steady foundation for employees to adapt, flex, and continuously thrive in the organization. With trust, a leader can achieve their goals in efficient and effective ways having support and faith of their employees. Additionally, employees feel that their leaders treat them fairly and involved them in their decision-making processes.
Q 3. What are the qualities you want most in an employee? Why?
Key qualities in an employee are reliability, attitude, and teamwork. Reliable employees take responsibility for their actions and always work to achieve the organization’s goals. Employees who possess a positive attitude impact fellow employees in having similar mindsets thus improving the team’s energy and productivity. An employee who works well with others is an asset to the company because they foster strong relationships leading to achieving of the organization’s goals.

The late Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron has had the most influence in the style of leadership. Kenneth Lay stated that an unhealthy ego is often a liability to the performance of the organization (Barker, 2019) . Leaders with healthy egos possess a balance of confidence, humility, and decisiveness in running and managing their organizations.

Areas that need improvement are effective communications, managing employees’ performance, and improving on mentorship programs.
