In their article titled Partnership Practices, Labor Relations Climate, and Employee Attitudes: Evidence from China, Meng Xi and team mention that the labor relations climate has deteriorated in China. Almost all local companies and international brands have turned to the partnership approach to cope up with work-related issues (Xi et al., 2016). For their study, researchers collected data from over workers and HR managers of 190 companies of five Chinese provinces. They tested the effectiveness of the partnership approach and concluded that the partnership approach could contribute to strong labor relations. The attitude of employees can be changed if they are given as much importance as is given to the customers. In addition to their salary packages, they should be provided with performance-based bonuses and facilities like free medical and free transportation. The company representatives across China should think of partnering with labor unions in order to boost their sales and to target more and more clients across the globe. In simple words, we can say that there should be a balance between employee satisfaction and customer satisfaction. The findings of Meng Xi and other researchers have contributed to the literature on labor relations and the importance of partnership. Big Chinese companies like Lenovo and Alibaba should take measures to improve their relationship with labors and need to implement strategies that are employee-friendly. The problem is that they do not pay any attention to helping their employees earn a lot, and end up losing the most talented, hardworking and dedicated people.
