E-learning refers to any form of learning facilitated by an electronic means (Kavanagh et al., 2015). E-learning has become prevalent in the modern environment primarily because of the increased use and access to the internet. The key advantage that comes with e-learning is flexibility (Kavanagh et al., 2015). Through e-learning, learners can choose when, where, what, and how much to learn. There are also other advantages, such as reduced accommodation and travel expenses, but learners do not accept them well. The key disadvantages associated with e-learning are technological issues and lack of human contact. Technological issues such as lack of electronic devices or internet connection can impede e-learning. Due to lack of human contact, learners are also prevented from interacting directly with instructors. Another disadvantage is that it is associated with less emphasis on learner-centered approaches.
